Applying for The Urega Scholarship?

This is the first and most crucial step if you want to be considered for the scholarship. You must fill out and submit the application form online through our portal during the application phase. Once your application is complete and submitted, our scholarship committee will take the time to review every element and inform you a few weeks later if you have been selected for the next step.

The goal of our interview is to know more about your background, goals, and aspirations for the future. This will be done through a 1:1 conversation with a member of our team. Depending on your location, you will be invited to schedule an in-person interview at Open Dreams - our partner's locations, or online through Zoom or Whatsapp. Please note that the discussion is **not** a scholarship guarantee but merely part of the selection process.

A few weeks after your interview, you will be notified by email and/or phone whether or not you have been selected as a Urega Scholar. If selected, this email will contain the necessary information, requests, and deadlines to make sure we can fulfill the logistics of the scholarship. If you are not selected, you will receive an email from us and encouragement for the future. We are very welcoming of reapplications, and we encourage all candidates who have not been successful to reapply if/when possible.

Please be advised that reapplying does NOT guarantee you will be granted the scholarship, as you will be evaluated in the pool of applications received.

After accepting our scholarship offer, you will officially become a member of the Urega family. As a Urega Scholar, we will cover your educational expenses, such as tuition and books, up to FCFA 200,000 during a single academic year. We will pay this amount directly to your school or through our partners. In exchange, we ask you to commit to the following:

• Rising or staying at the top of your class, doing your best to achieve the best grades at the GCE Ordinary or Advanced Level

• Abstaining from committing any crime or actions that may jeopardize you academically.

• Remaining available once a month to connect with your Urega Mentor and update them on anything in your life or share any struggle you might have, academic or not.

• Continuing to develop your professional skills, deepening your academic vocabulary, and strengthening your writing skills.

• Sharing (if applicable) your post-graduation plans with your Urega Mentor and creating a plan of action regarding testing, essays, and how to prepare for post-secondary life.

  By accepting the conditions mentioned above, you will officially be welcomed into the Urega Family.
