From Our Scholars: Ndi Winston

“My love for science started way back during my primary school days. I come from a village close to a dam, which is used to produce electricity. I recall a (false) tale that was told that the dam could only be explored by the indegenous people of that specific locality, as I was not from there, this fueled my desire to pursue the sciences, to become an engineer and debunk that myth. As I began secondary school I became more drawn to finding ways to help others through medicine, as I believe that with medicine you can be of immense help regardless of your financial background. Looking around me, I understood that the biggest challenge the world is facing is that of information. I believe that if people are provided with the right and sufficient amount of information through education, that alone will go a long way to solve all the political, economical, environmental, sociological, and health issues we face in our communities. For that particular reason, my ultimate goal is to become an educationist in the medical field, a Professor of Medicine who trains and equips with information and knowledge the next generation of medical professionals.”
