Starting Our Journey
Thank you for visiting our home, urega.org. We are truly excited to have you here. You are reading the very first post on our Stories section; which will allow us to share with you our journey, the stories of our scholars and all about the foundation.
We began this collective journey in November 2020, and since then, a lot has unfolded as we have defined and redefined ourselves, whilst staying true to our mission, to support and empower outstanding young Africans from disadvantaged backgrounds. We are truly excited about what is ahead of us.
Over the next months, we will share with you insights on our journey on the field, as we will conduct our first outreach, to meet students and potential scholars at different schools in Cameroon. Some of the schools we will visit have a record number of “Internally Displaced Persons” (IDPs) — individuals that were moved from their home town, because of the Anglophone Crisis in Cameroon — and we really hope to be of help to some of them. We aim to support outstanding students from a wide range of disadvantaged backgrounds and through our stories, we will share with you our journey towards achieving this.
